A meditation on thresholds found in abandoned warehouses — moments where openings, windows, and doorways become passages between light and shadow, presence and absence. OPEN / CLOSED reflects on the tension between threshold and enclosure — fleeting encounters, often stumbled upon, that surface in the transient quiet of deserted spaces. A series exploring subtle portals and shifting boundaries — an invitation through architectural gestures.
ARTIST STATEMENT
Photographed on medium-format negative film, OPEN / CLOSED explores the subtlety of images that act as portals — frames that open onto spaces. Working within deserted industrial sites, I search for moments where light shapes an unexpected passage: a gap, a threshold, a suggestion of space beyond. These photographs reflect a practice of attentiveness, where the simplest architectural gestures offer a quiet invitation to possibility.
