LOST BIRDS

Lost Birds beat through open space, fracturing its emptiness in ways visible only in dreams. Large-scale, ethereal silhouettes emerge in celadon and white, their forms suspended against a pale, pearly sky. Each image appears and vanishes in the same breath — swift arcs, bursts of light, and brief moments of flight. Lost Birds beat through open space: velocity stilled.

ARTIST STATEMENT

The Lost Birds series was created in collaboration with the artist KK. Formed through shared conversations about dreams and the elusive moments that shape them, Lost Birds explores a space where memory and imagination converge. The images — photographed on middle-format negative film — render these ethereal silhouettes in tones that echo the subtle atmospheres of air: minimal pigment, soft celadon, faint wisps of color.

To accompany the work, a limited-edition book brings together the full series along with an interview between PvA and KK conducted by I. Sherwood, expanding the storyworld of the Lost Birds and the dreamlike terrain in which they move.
